About the WAAMH – Western Australian Mental Health Conference:
“The conference aims to develop, strengthen and support WA’s mental health sector, so we can work better together in the interest of the community’s mental health. This event will provide collaborative opportunities for people with lived experience, clinical staff and non-clinical mental health workers; offering the chance to share resources, perspectives and best practices.” – WAAMH – Western Australian Mental Health Conference.
“Conference streams will be underpinned by the trauma-informed principles
- Safety
- Trust
- Choice
- Collaboration
- Empowerment
- Respect for diversity
While the program streams rest on the trauma informed principles, these words can be used in their own merit outside of how they relate to trauma. For example, you may wish to present about mental health in the workplace – this would relate to the ‘Safety’ stream. Your presentation/workshop could speak to one or multiple streams.” – WAAMH – Western Australian Mental Health Conference.
Who are the Western Australian Association for Mental Health:
“The Western Australian Association for Mental Health (WAAMH) is the peak body for community mental health in Western Australia… WAAMH influences community attitudes, mental health priorities, policy and practice through mental health promotion, systemic advocacy and development so Western Australians have the rights, resources and support needed for mental wellbeing, recovery, and citizenship.” – Western Australian Association for Mental Health
