Vinnies CEO Sleepout Perth
Vinnies CEO Sleepout Perth raises awareness about homelessness and essential services provided by Vinnies WA. CEOs that registered slept out around Optus Stadium. Vinnies WA hosted our Lasting Effects of Homelessness Workshop as part of their CEO Sleepout event at Optus Stadium.
As part of the evening, Matt Vapor presented his workshop about the Lasting Effects of Homelessness. It discussed how Matt found himself homeless, sleeping rough, at the age of 16 years old. It also explored his experiences while sleeping rough, how his homelessness ceased and how homelessness still affects his life today.
More than 100 West Australian business and community leaders have raised a total of $850,603 for Vinnies homelessness services. These services include Tom Fisher House, which provides temporary accommodation for adults, and two Passages Youth Engagement Hubs – one in Perth, the other in Mandurah – which provide services to young people. The Passages Hubs are delivered as a joint venture between Vinnies WA and the Rotary Club of Perth and Mandurah.
