Recently the City of Bunbury Libraries hosted our Libraries & Homelessness Professional Development Workshop. This workshop was also attended by library staff from Shire of Waroona, Shire of Harvey, Shire of Capel, Shire of Augusta-Margaret River, and Shire of Dardanup.
Homelessness in regional areas looks a lot different to city and suburban homelessness. Regional homelessness is impacted more by regional isolation, lack of social and economic mobility and limited services. This means libraries in these areas play a greater role in supporting the local homeless community.
