Recently the State Library of Western Australia hosted our Libraries & Homelessness Professional Development Workshop.
Libraries and homelessness share a unique relationship. It’s a relationship that’s at the heart of why I love libraries.
They’re the last service that exists purely for the common good, a safe space that doesn’t care if you’re rich, poor or in between.
Thank you to the staff for listening to my story of homelessness; and allowing me to share my insights into how and why libraries are such a pivotal service for those experiencing homelessness.
